That would be really cool if you and Bill were the source for the bridge and tailpiece. Again, with Gibson's usual lead time I hope that would give you both time to get them made! If you get the chance to speak with the rep again, may I suggest reminding her that Orville/Epi Japan had no problem sourcing chrome pickup covers so somebody out there was making them up to at least a few years ago.

Hornisse

Heck, they could just buy 25 pickups from Lull.  They'd be 60's spec and readily available.  If the bass is going to be big $$ may as well have a great pickup in it.

Yes,

I feel like I'm beating the proverbial dead horse with it, but since I can compare pretty much everything out there for pups that would be a viable alternative, I'd always use a Lull, they're just that good.  ;D

I think it would be great if Gibson went this route............................but I doubt they will.

And you're probably right about that too, Scott.  ;)

Which brings me back to my original thought, Let them put TB plus pups in and then we swap them out later, believe me it will be far cheaper than if Gibson goes out and installs Lulls in these basses.

May as well let them do that.  Hopefully they won't use them all up on this POS. (which is their 101st variation on the LP)

Both basses we brought in had Bill's tail piece and my bridge.................................she took a interest and asked if I have 25 available, I don't, I would have to get them made up.

I'm sure you could make 25 by the time they get around to doing this.

Seems like there could be 25 advance orders here for Peltham Blue.
I'd be IN if I could get a lefty. But NOoooo as Belushi would say.

It will be very interesting to see how this plays out...................

The joke has gone on too long.

It's not a joke, but we may end up laughing at ourselves for getting our hopes up!   :-\

What kind of two piece bridge was Uwe's new Washboard top Les Paul?  Looked ok in the pics

bassvirtuoso

Not sure where they sourced the bridge on Uwe's BFG, but it was very nice (even though it was black hardware...)

Explain this to me.  They'll tool up to make the hideous pickguard and plates on this POS but they can't make a chrome cover for basses they sell every day already?  Oh brother, what a bunch of rummies.   >:(
