Fortunately, most of the people I knew from high school who've contacted me through FB are those I liked back then!

I'm too old.

I'm on there only because I had to to view some things from a relative of mine. I do not go on it regularly & I am banned from my kids accounts. I found most of my friends, who are 99 % musicians, through MySpace (remember that?). The only other people are non musicians & relatives on Face Book.

Like my second cousin-

the whole 'virtual friend' thing eludes me. collecting people they most likely will never meet or interact with. i guess i'm too literal.

I just helped put together a 40 year class reunion and facebook was a neccessary evil. I did get to hook up with some people I really did want to hook up with, but all kinds of people I never knew very well or didn't know at all came out of the woodwork. A bit overwhelming  :o. Kinda Nice yet Kinda Pain in the Butt.

Facebook has a bad image in Germany. It's widely regarded as a platform for swingers. I'm the monogamous type.

No doubt it's the way of the future, but I try to elude the future where I can.

some of my daughters do it so i got dragged into it a couple of years ago. it is a handy way to get hold of them and i have found a few old friends there.

I'm on there because our family is spread out all over the country, with some of my wife's cousins and aunts are living in other countries as well, so it's a great way to keep them updated on our young children.  There are only 2 school friends who are my Facebook friends (the rest were dorks then, so why would I want to be friends with them now?), but I have used the groups function to stay in touch for high school reunions etc

I use Myspace and Facebook for promoting my bands, gigs, and networking with other musos, and have picked up several well paying gigs and cushy fill in gigs via the networks I've developed on both sites.

I'm a whore on Myspace, in that I'll befriend anybody, but on Facebook my 100 friends are either "real life" friends, family or long time imaginary internet forum friends.  That's the line I draw between the two sites.

Facebook may be a necessary evil, but it's been profitable for me.
Cheers

Ha ha! That's what adultfriendfinder is for. LOL!

I use facebook MOSTLY for shameless self promotion. And it works. It keeps you visible, even at times like this when I'm between bands/building a new project. I have around 570 "friends", and I've actually met most of them!  ;D I also use it to connect with real friends from the past, and family.
