I dunno.  Voice of dissent here again.  That grain is bookmatched to make a nice v right down the middle.  Extremely well done by some guy in Kalamazoo back in the day, and pretty unusal.  Not that I would do a Georgia O'Keefe vagina theme, but it is really nice looking, and I personally would try to play that up.

And if going for a Waffen volunteer unit truss rod cover, then black works too.
