I have been watching that, looks like a fun project, not sure I I am going to wade in though.

I always though the guts of a T-40 on a lighter build would be a good project.

funny i've been wanting to put T-4o pups in a ripper since i got my 76. so far i have 1 t40 pup but i want an ebony board "Gibson" ripper

I doubt it will sound even the slightest bit different!  ???  If it were a Gibson body made of alder and set neck, yes, but Epis are maple bodies with a bolt on construction. Not sure whether a Peavey body is always maple (mine looks and feels more like heavy ash), but the difference in sound between maple and heavy ash is barely noticeable.

It'll just look different.
