I'm also fond of most of the Northwest microbrews - from Red Hook through Hale's Ale.

Actually, I walked through the first location of Hale's Ale with Mike Hale when he was a county Extension agent in Colville, WA.  He was in the process of outfitting the shop with stainless tanks that came from a defunct dairy nearby.  That's a course of a lot of start-up microbrew gear, as much of the dairy stuff is stainless.  I've been very pleased to see Hale's Ale go big in the Pacific NW.

So at least something good has come from Colville besides me   ;)

You're a Colville guy?

You've come a long way......

I've never been a drinker but I have a best friend that drank enough for both of us over the years. One of his favorites was Samuel Smith beers. We did a tour of the brewery in England (Tadcaster, near Yorkshire) in the mid 90's that was the highlight of that year's trip to the UK. When we got there we found that there were no tours that day and, as we dejectedly turned to leave the gentleman in the office had pity and called us back (there were two or three other people that had walked in at the same time) and gave the five of us a very personal tour of the whole facility. What a cool place it was...

Being in the UK you get all the GOOD stuff, Im so jealous of you guys that you can get REAL Cider!, Even the cheap stuff to me is amazing,
I have been looking for Scrumpy Jack cider in the states for over 5 years, :(

;D yes I think we are very fortunate, even more so as I'm in Herefordshire which is one of the Cider capitols, Westons is a local brew and then the great Bulmers.

I recently found a hard cider brand called Woodchuck, made in New England.  Pretty nice stuff!

Arrr, that be zider, you grockle...

Tough to beat Fullers "London Pride", if you're talking beer ...

Being a (sad b*stard) vegetarian there is virtually nothing "draught" I drink, but lots of bottled stuff...

Talking cider, you'ld be "hard pressed" to beat Westons "Old Rosie" for a quality "scrumpy"

A BIG disapointment for me is no veggie Guiness...

Ken, I was surprised to learn that most of Samuel Smith's beers are vegan. I don't know if there are any Samuel Smith pubs in your area (being a Northern brewery), but I thought I'd mention it and I'm sure the bottles are available near you.

Think coloquial pronounciation for "cider", Al...  ;)

Cheers for that, George (no "dry county" for me, my bro...!) The problem with "hand-drawn" beers is not the product, but the "finings" which in the UK is "isinglass", which is a fish product - numerous products are suitable, in the bottle, but few advertise the fact - veggies/vegans have to do their research...

Woodchuck isnt too bad,. Original sin is a brand I like, its not as sweet and has a bit higher alc content, its produced at the same cidery as woodchuck.

I'm not much of a drinker anymore.  Did most of my drinking between the ages of 15 and 21.  I do like the occasional Shiner Bock now and then.  If you're ever in Austin you should check out Whip In.
