Of course the Non-rev BaCH will be here this year. I'm also bidding on Jules' EB0-body (and I have a Darkstar in a box somewhere), but what would be a nice idea to do with a fake F****r-decalled maple black-block Jazz neck I have.

- Fenderbird. Putting the Jazz neck at a Thunderbird type body, JAE-style.
- Explorerbird. Putting the Jazz neck at an Explorer type body. JAE-style.
- Buzzer. Putting the Jazz neck at a Buzzard type body.
- Billy Bender. Putting the Jazz neck at a Gretsch Billy Bo Jupiter Thunderbird Bass type body.
- Other. Please post.

And if you voted:

Pick ups:
- Darkstar?
- Trying to put my two Epi T-bird pups in the two 70s chrome covers I have.
- One Epi in chrome cover
- Other?

I dunno if I do something with the results, but maybe you come up with some nice ideas:)

Model One and Schallers?  Ish.

Nuff said!

Buy the chrome covers from Greatguitrz on Ebay, stuff them with whatever, step away from the Darkstars...

Chris P.

I have two of those covers. I wanted to use them for the NonRev BaCh, but maybe that one's alright without them.

Foghat? please explain.

eb2

The only rock guy in the world who played a maple necked Jazz with black blocks was the guy in Foghat, and the classic Foghat Live LP has pics of him with a few of them.  Between that and Fool For the City, you had as good an argument for roundwounds as any.  Then Geddy Lee put his Rick away, and told Fender to make him a Jazz like the one he hardly ever used, and the world got amnesia.

Okay! I learn new things every day overhere:)

I vote for an Egmond body!

Second choice would be anything other than the Billy Bo Jupiter. I wouldn't want you to lose all your friends.  ;)

Explorer body with a chrome cover pickup would be nice. White finish.

Black block Jazz neck makes me think of Ian Hill who used one for almost 10 years. Here's the earliest clip I found (1975).

And this guy:

He was the reason I got my first Fender, oddly enough, a black-block sunburst Jazz.

A Fenderbird, of course.  With a NR body!
I'm fixin' a hole where the rain gets in..........cuz I'm built for a kilt!

Entwistle played some Explorer-bodies too. A fiesta red one's in the Bass Culture Book, he writes there he gave a white one to Townshend and several others are in hardrock cafes all over the world. You don't see 'm that often, so I'm tempted to do that.

drbassman

The Explorer body is a good one too.  I'm just hung up on the NR design at present!!!  :P

The problem with the Explorer body shape is it immediately makes people think of big hair Metal bands from the 80's. I'm not sure that fits your bands image?

Chris P.

You're right with the image. But a Thunderbird has a bit of a same image....

Well, Ash uses a Thunderbird, The Kinks a V and U2 an Explorer.

I dunno if I'll use it in my band.
