Since Mark's nifty BaCH thread started including other hobbies, maybe we should have a thread for other hobbies. So far, Star Trek, model trains and aircraft carriers are popular. What else? I'll start.

I have a small collection of toy Studebakers, bunches of old model kits and am currently working on a couple of Indian motorcycles.

What about you guys?
Why did Salvador Dali cross the road?
Clocks.

Highlander

I have a significant collection of minature owls... (hoot... hoot... hold on... did someone say "twit"...? same "to-you..."  ;D)
The random mind of a Silver Surfer...
If research was easy, it wouldn't need doing...
Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

Owls you say?

We have a pair of Great Horned Owls that moved in our neighborhood. I took this one morning in our back yard. Sometimes he hoots so loud when he sits on our house it rattles the windows. Cool at first, but becomes irritating when they hoot all night (mating season is fall )

I used to collect dwarf conifers, but ran out of room in our yard (and don't have the $$$ anymore). Have a small Koi Pond

Blue Heron feeding pond, I should say

In my spare time I'm a vexillologist.

I was helping my dad with the family tree for a few years before he passed away.  Lately, I'm down to working and playing.  I'm a pretty dull guy these days.

Mark, want to build my Wimer Grist Mill HO model?  I couldn't believe that there is actually a model of one of my ancestor's properties.
Telling tales of drunkenness and cruelty

Lessee......

I maintain and repair my own cars...(6, including daughters)
Do my own home repair...
Teach a graduate course online for an institution in New Jersey...
Serve on the Advisory Council for a College at my alma mater...
Help coordinate alumni activities in Colorado for my alma mater...

I guess music is my hobby, unless you count any of those above.

After being a good Husband and Father, bassplaying tops this list but Home renos (which are freakin' NEVERENDING!) have become a close second .....

I used to have a bit more time and often wrote articles for various magazines here's a couple pages by yours truly........Model railroding is an enjoyable hobby because it has some many facets, model making, woodworking, amatuer historian/ researcher and photography to name a few.

No pics - no kits...   ;)

Also into writing, photography, SciFi, ornithology, geneaology, specific histories (Scottish and CBI-WW2), I play instruments occasionally...  ;D

Al... I'll raise you Great Horned Owl (oh so cool...!) with a dozen or so Rose Ring Necked Parakeets that were gobbling up all the food in our garden today  - VERY noisey... (very odd seeing parrots in the snow!) We had the UK's primary roost just a mile from us - 5000 birds would gather there every night... the owners of the land put up some phone masts and chopped down the trees... the parakeets all moved on... Once rescued a Barn Owl from the slip road of a motorway in the snow, near Heathrow Airport - warmed her up in the van and off she went - a very satisfying experience, no wing damage, probably got caught in a truck downdraught... similar thing with a Kestrel, too... Used to look after a one-eyed tawny owl... the garden has a significant critter graveyard... Used to do a lot of voluntary work with a wildelife rescue charity...

Ms Hills... I had to do a double-take on all your pictures - I honestly thought they were the real-thing... that is exquisite workgirlship...

... and not forgetting Ronn - I had to look that one up - care to explain further...?
