Thanks guys, encouraging enough to have another go

......... I think!
That's how the figures were painted when I got them. My teenage skills would have improved them massively - not so sure these days.
I was in a model shop earlier today killing time, nothing bought. They had some amazing model figures in 1/35 painted up - but at £60-70 per figure - I passed!

Dangerous place to go, Stu... there's a place called Comet Minatures (not all they sell) in Battersea that could break lots of people's hearts (and budgets...)

Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

I've always thought of photography as the "anvil" when it comes to modelmaking.......if it looks good, convincing for a moment or two before the viewer realizes what it is - you've succeeded.

Oldies but still faves.

Yesterday was quite a good day for some model photograhy, so off to the Marina I went - strong AM sunshine and a clear horizon make for some nice shots, the kits here are from quite a few different manufacturers, the two I'm most happy with are the Penn Central cars. They're resin castings with many photo-etched brass details added. Cheers

I would like to say Ho Hum same as usual Mark!  But AS USUAL I am forced to go through each pic and stare in amazement at not just the detail but the lighting. Great stuff.

Fantastic job all around, Mark, both pix and rolling stock.  You make it look too easy!

 Thanks guys!

Building models really is a simple joy for me I can get lost in it for hours if I'm left unattended  ;D
The pictures are surprising simple as long the sun is out and a clear horizon is available.

The Penn Central car was a real challenge, the kit is a resin casting with beautiful etched metal parts and a good instruction sheet, these are just a couple shots from construction.

All the parts pretty much on, ready to paint.

Painted, a very glossy P.C. green, ready for waterslide decals.

And one side done.
