The originals blues guitarist/songwriter I play with opened for Kevin Borich on Friday night at The Vanguard, which is a small but excellent venue in Newtown here in Sydney.  Kev drew a full house, with all tickets sold out by mid afternoon, so it was a great atmosphere.  The audience liked us too, fortunately!

If you're wondering, that's my '84 Tokai Hard Puncher.

Always nice to play a small sold out venue.

You look calmer than usual. Must be the shirt.

Nice shots (makeup call - sort out that shine... ;D)

Mr Borich... now that's a name I haven't heard of in a few years - he was quite a player...

He still is, at age 62.  I first saw him live in 1976!

Nice shots Mark.  I love the sound of a good P bass too.  I think you should grow your hair out again!

Life in the corporate world by day precludes doing that.  Ever wonder why Uwe doens't have a ponytail?

Actually, I was just saying last night I think I'll grow it a bit (but not to ponytail length again).  I'm relatively free of gray hair so I'll see how a bit more length looks.

Great pics Mark. How do you find the Hard Puncher compared to a Fender?

The Tokais from that era are much better than the US Fenders from the same era - built with quality hardware, and with warm and beefy sounding pickups.  The necks are really nice too.  This is the second Tokai I've owned, and it's only two because I regretted offing the first one I owned.

Booyah!  Got pics of that gig? ;D

The Tokia looks for all the world to be a 70's P bass! I have heard nothing but good things about these, sure sounds good!
