Weren't these strictly for the Japanese market? It's been 2 or 3 years since I've seen one.

godofthunder

I saw that, VERY nice ! I was tempted but I got this Hiwatt deal going on.

That guy comes up with some VERY nice guitars and basses, but the shipping is a killer unless it's something you just GOTTA have.

Those were the predecessors to the Elitist EB-3s, right? The closest replica to a vintage EB-3 then.

I don't pretend to be an expert on Japanese stuff but my impression is that Gibson phased out the Orville name in favor of Epiphone Japan, but everything else stayed the same (quality-wise). The guitars/basses have Gibson style headstocks and were made for the Japanese marked and not for export. I wouldn't hesitate to buy any of that batch of instruments.

doombass

I agree with Uwe and George. Logically it might have as well said Orville on that headstock and seems like a transisition model in between the Japanese market Orvilles and the wide spread elite series EB-3. I love the SG shape and Pelham Blue combination.

Dave W

I think that's right, these came between the Orvilles and the Elitists.

Pilgrim

I do have a TERRIBLE weakness for bright shiny objects in metallic blue.  Fortunately that one's not in the toy budget.

Didn't sell, so maybe he'll lower the price a bit when he relists it.

Sold the second time around @ $749.

If I'd come across this thread earlier I'd have probably hit it.
