My girlfriend called me this morning and told me she "Passed with Distinction" her comprehensive exam for her Masters Degree! Since she wants to teach 8th graders in lower privileged public schools that ought to help her out quite a bit.

That is no small accomplishment! I was in a Ph.D. program and dropped out for family reasons but I was so glad I quit before comps - I don't think I could have done it... So I'm impressed!

Thanks, everyone! She's so relieved at being done with school it's ridiculous. She called me later in the afternoon and told me that the only thing she accomplished was getting her masters degree. It was pretty funny.

No kidding. I wouldn't mind staying at home with the cats, working on the motorcycles and messing with the basses. Wouldn't be bad!

Strange; my wife is 45 minutes away from completing class and field work for her BA in Elementary Ed. She refuses to work with hormonal teens and pre-teens, and judging by the behavior of our 11-year-old, that's a wise decision.
