I can see how this one might have some specialized uses, most likely in recording, not live. I can't imagine using it regularly, roundwounds or not.

That thing about tracking sounds interesting. I hate octave pedals who track poorly when you're trying to use them as octave pedals and not as pure noisemakers.

That's what I think too Dave.  The Grunt is a fantastic everyday pedal, but the Octa-Bass has limited use.  I've suggested to Cave that they really need an octave pedal in the range that retains the existing signal and adds either octave up or octave down, rather than subtracting the original signal as this pedal does.  The owner/developer is a guitarist, not a bass player, so it's great that he's happy to take my feedback on this type of stuff.

Behold the power of suggestion.  :)

It's a good sign that he's listening, and he doesn't need to go through layers of management to produce it.

Here's a video demo of the Grunt, at the request of some sceptics at Geek Chat, who didn't believe that a passive pedal could boost a passive signal ....

The "dirty" gives a MB type boost, or is that just my dodgy ears...? Any chance of a demo of your "Octa-Grunt", Sport...

You could have looked a little more inspired Mark :o

You're right Rob, but I was doing the video mainly to shut up the sceptics at Guitar Geek, so didn't want to look like a full-on salesman.
