Classy piece of work...

Not having owned a Jazz, or for that matter, any Fender, I got curious as to the reasoning for that approx 1/2" hole under the PG area and in the neck pocket...?

That's supposedly for CNC fixturing, a place to hold the body while it's being routed.

DANG!  I normally like fancier pickguards, but that looks SO clean as is - that's a beautiful bass.

Nah, I used it for our 3rd set which is other bands from the 60s.
I dug it, still sounds just as good as it did when it looked ugly. ;)
