You're not going to believe this   , but I finish sanded the Billy and will take it in for painting!  They are always red, but I was thinking something different.

What color do think I should use?

How about another color associated with Gretsch? Gretsch Orange? Aspen Green top with a Cadillac Green back?

I kinda like that green idea. Actually, if it had that factory-style mahogany back for a color contrast, I'd even vote for bright yellow.

Wow, green is my most "unfavorite" color on a bass.  I can't explain why, but i've never cared for it.

I've been thinking about it a lot and I think this would be cool and not like every other red BB.  How about this:  dark red or mahogany stained back, sides and neck with a.................gold top!  That would be different!

Gold top with mahogany back would look great. Red back wouldn't look right to me.

Nothing wrong with not liking certain colors, on a bass or anything else. I always loved the look of those old two tone green Gretsch Anniversary models.

Pilgrim

Gold would be cool.

Don't misunderestimate the potential of bright chrome yellow!

The other color that occurred to me for the top is silver, a popular Gretsch color.

I'm a fan of gold top/walnut back.

Silver is good too (and yes, there's always that lovely Gretsch orange.)

Yeah, I already have my orange Broadkaster.  I love that finish!  But I don't need another orange bass, I don't think.

Or you could do a Gretsch silver sparkle top with mahogany stain back.
