Just to follow up - I've had this T-40 for almost a month now and I just can't get over what a fun instrument this is.  The only downside is that I have (at least temporarily) pushed my G&L aside.

I am neither good, nor do I really aspire to do anything more than play along to some of my favorite songs & jam with my kids, but I'm getting better because I have a hard time putting it down.

The actual downside: When I travel, I like to take a bass with me...I may need to hire a Sherpa to help lug this T-40 in its case.

Yeah, it's the original plastic case from 1985.
Big, bulky & sturdy...kinda like the T-40.

Showed up today and is a lot lighter than I thought it would be.  The total weight of the package including the big plastic case was 18 pounds.  I'd say it is right at 10 pounds or even less.  Nice natural PAF T-40 goodness.  In great shape too with a little bit of discoloration around the edges of the body where the arm would go over (there are no contours on the early ones) and some wear on the black plastic part of the treble pickup from player wear.  A great deal I got from the Denver, CO Guitar Center for $285 shipped.  Here is a pic from their website.

That sounds much lighter than usual. Price is right. Looks good. Congrats.  :)
