Who's using autotune, Taylor or Beyoncé or (probably) both?

Even Robert Halford admits to using autotune live.

I was talking about Taylor Swift. Just because the Tele Forum guys who automatically hate anything new because it isn't "real" country claim that she does. I don't know. I don't care as long as her fans don't care.

This I like ;D

I like Taylor - the fact that she does indeed write her own stuff is even more impressive.  And, I'll bet she doesn't need Autotune on her vocal tracks either  ;)

Funny you should mention that. I heard her single on the radio earlier in the day of the awards show, and I was thinking "I can HEAR the autotune" on certain parts. Then, when she did the same song on the show, those very parts sounded not quite on.  Remember the days before Pro Tools and auto tune?

I would have figured Beyonce might have been more the candidate for Autotune - certainly Kanye takes full advantage of it

I just googled Beyonce autotune. Yep. I didn't know because I just can't listen to that kind of singing. Kanye West (IMHO) is even worse.

Did I mention that I will pick up my first Taylor Swift CD at my CD watering hole today? If it hadn't been for Kanye, I'd never ever heard of her!!

Taylor today, tomorrow the world. If you tolerate this your children will be next ...

If we had a regular Taylor thread, then maybe we'd attract a younger and more female audience?

According to her lyrics, she has a heart for adolescent male humor (so prevalent here):

"You're on the phone
with your girlfriend, she's upset
she's going off about
something that you said
'cause she doesn't
get your humor like I do

I'm in the room
it's a typical Tuesday night
I'm listening to the kind of
music she doesn't like
and she'll never
know your story like I do

But she wears short skirts
I wear t-shirts
she's cheer captain
and I'm on the bleachers
dreaming 'bout the day
when you wake up and find
that what you're looking for
has been here the whole time"

A protective mum:

"Taylor, 19, was on stage accepting the moon man for Best Female Video when Kanye West appeared and took the microphone from her to say that Beyonce, another contender for the gong, has "one of the best videos of all time".

A source says Taylor's mum Andrea asked to speak to the rapper where she then "tore into him" but he still continued to say Beyonce should have won and failed to apologise.

Kanye has since apologised several times for the incident and also to Taylor personally."

And is kindhearted to all people:

"Taylor, 19, ate at restaurant Serendipity 3 with Emma Stone on September 14 where she reportedly ate cheese ravioli and drunk a soda.

When the girls went to pay the US$60 tab and it is claimed Taylor picked up the bill and paid an extra US$24 for tip, which is a 40 per cent tip."

Her album (Fearless) ain't halfbad either. I listened to a couple of songs yesterday in the car and the production is soothingly organic, not that plastic Mutt Lange sound that makes me wince when I hear Shania Twain's productions. Quite wordy lyrics and of course it's all about love and teenage heartbreak, but it's pulled off with some heart.
