That's an SB 450 (from Jules: http://www.flyguitars.com/gibson/bass/1973gibsonSB450.php)

Nicely done, looks like an attempt to copy the carved version of the Guild JS II. This might be the very first time a Gibson has copied a Guild instead of the other way around.  ;)

I'm not fond of the SB series, although Uwe disagrees.

I prefer the uncarved version. I have never heard them but they should sound good with the two humbuckers.

The carving isn't my thing.......it's nicely done, you could probably roll some ink on it and do some woodblock prints  :)

Plus, if you never wipe it after playing, new material will build up over time and fill the cavities ...

I like it. It's got that Western look like leather tooling.
Surprised there are no bidders. It'll be interesting to see what she goes for.

I think the Guild JS IIs with the carved top were influenced by artisan carved Gibson EB basses 0f the 60's-70's. If that were a EB bass I would be all over it, one of these days !

All that carving opens up those nitro- and filler-clogged pores and lets the tone ring out and the wood breathe, and the whole thing resonates like crazy... or something like that.  :P  Oh yeah, and I forgot to add, the sustain is almost infinite. But only in the spots that are carved.  8)

Can't agree re the quality of the carving... if you look closely at the inset pics you can see she's not finished off, a craftsman would be needed to finish of the works...
