Ok I'll try and answer all the questions. John I did not pot it in hot wax, I was going to but all that stuff I couldn't find, a victim of the move. I just mounted the pick up in the cavity and put the cover over it, works fine. At rehearsal I didn't hear any difference in out put with the Model G covered. As for the SD custom shop repro pup in the bridge position it doesn't sound like a TB plus (I find these are brutish and lack the sparkle of a 60's TB pup) The SD sounds like a good 60's Thunderbird pup should nice full mids with a upper level of sparkle and just a bit of blurieness. To be honest the Model G is so hot the SD put is a bit inefective in this configuration but I can use it to tame the Model G.
