NR project idea...

I've really come to like the BaCHbird now that I've gotten used to it, and the NR bodystyle in general is one I've really grown to like as well.
Two T-bird pickups were in the Victory case when I brought it home and they gave me an idea.
I was thinking about taking the neck/headstock off an Epi Thunderbird and those two T-bird pickups, coming up with a NR body, like an Epiphone or some generic one, and building a NR using original Gibson parts for the rest.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is it worth doing for anything other than for the hell of it? For all I know, everyone here's already done it.

Maybe you could buy this one off Ebay and put the Tbird pickups in it? Let Scott make you a new pickguard.

Saw that, watching it, want it! This is the same one which was on eBay about the time I joined this here forum. It was a buy-it-now deal and went right away. I think it's gorgeous.

Do you think the body would require a lot of modification to put those pups in it, other than the pickguard you mentioned? I really don't know much about what goes on under the PG...

Dang it! I got outbid on it. I wanted that thing the last time it was on eBay and missed it by a lousy $10. Doh!

Sooner or later I'll get one, I'm sure. This one was $250 as a buy it now earlier this year, but this time went for $513.

I sold both my 4 & 5 string for much more than I paid for them. I sold them after only owning them for several months so I could buy the LP Standard. I would have kept them if that bass hadn't shown up. There seems to be a constant cycle of these popping up on Ebay with great BIN pricing, then followed by them selling for a lot higher thru regular bidding.

Thanks for that link, Rob! They have some awesome basses. The cross named Benedictus is bad, ha ha! They have a Billy Bo copy guitar. No bass unfortunately.
