I can't see them ever going down in value. I agree it seems pricey but they always do. They will not be made again anytime soon.

Kind of like a middle-class Zemaitis.

Steve Chesney, the original owner, was a DP member. He once posted a pic of his 'Wal wall' before he started selling off his collection. Woulda made you sick...just an amazing lineup that guy had.
Word is that one of the Sei guys is taking over Wal and is now repairing older basses, with production of new instruments to begin soon.

Nice Wal, I never saw a lefty before

I read that a guy named Paul Herman had taken it over, was he with Sei?

True and true. It is also true that this is old news, and exactly one new Wal that the internet bass community knows about is being gigged by Martin Kemp for the Spandau reunion tour. Hopefully, the new Wal guy has done away with the V-shaped necks and the sharp fingerboard edges. I tried one at Manny's in Manhattan in 1991 or so and didn't play it for more than a minute.  Love the way they sound, hate the way they play.

I've only played one, it was formerly owned by fattychugs (from DP v.1), he loaned it to me for a couple of weeks. Nice olive ash top and back. I don't remember any sharp edges on the board but I do remember not liking the neck profile.
