Yeah, I've seen that guy.  It would be so easy for him to put a pick in that hook.  Did I ever mention that I was in a band called One Arm Bandit?  Hoppy is still playing out in Oklahoma City.

No but similar effect.

Gary, ever see the one armed bass player?

I hadn't noticed before that the neck is a fretless graphite one.

That guy does a helluva better job of playin' his bass with one hand than his mate does of playin' those drums with two.

A speedy recovery, Gary, and nice to see you playing so quickly...

Does your "tag-line" live up to it...?  :o  ;D  :o or was it one of those "stone-cold-sober" moments that if you were "one-over-the-eight" would never have happened...?

And Bret... Uwe would never become a "Kollaborator"...  ;D

Update - good news, too.  My wrist is not dislocated.  I won't need surgery, either.  I'm out of the sling, now have a brace, which allows me some movement.  I'm also starting to get a little more finger movement back.  I go back next week for a follow-up, and we may start some physical therapy.  Playing my  bass may actually help with therapy, but not 4 sets!  I'll try dinking with them at home.

That is good to hear - with all the mechanical arms tastefully adorning this thread I was starting to get worried!

Well, the brace isn't much different than those.  I just have my hand still attached.   ;)

I don't know what to think. First I read that Uwe is hitting duff notes while "playing solo" now you're talking about dinking at home.  ???

Good news about your wrist, anyway.

Uwe...!

How could you make such a trannieist comment; you put yourself at such risk in this PC (not bass-maker) world...  :o

Here I am, a month down the road, and things are getting better.   I'm going to physical therapy twice a week.  I like that my insurance is covering my sessions with dominatrixes in nurses clothing.  They give me pain with a smile.  I got up last week with my band for a few songs.  It felt good to play again.  I quit while I was ahead.  This week, it's my plan to do the first set of each night, and let my sub finish the night.  The Scroll bass sits just about perfectly - I can play pretty comfortably without straining my arm.  I still have wrist problems, but I'm getting there.
I also just got done celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and her 50th birthday this past week.  I'm officially broke.  Anyone want to buy a Dean Rhapsody 8-string?
