I believe drbassman has one or two of these.

godofthunder (Scott) and I have sent covers off to SD for 60's spec TB pickup installs several times.  It's not cheap, but the results are fantastic.  I've only sent in the 2 hole covers from greatdealz, I think maybe Scott has done a 3 hole model with SD in the past, I'm not sure.
I'm fixin' a hole where the rain gets in..........cuz I'm built for a kilt!

The other option is to try and find some of the standard, black plastic-covered TB+ pickups like on the current T-Birds. Peel off the plastic and the guts slide nice and snug into the chrome covers. I got the idea from Mark. Tried it with my BaCHbird, and it worked great. Great sounding pickup.

re; new v. vintage style sd's, i imagine there is a huge difference in sound. i have a '64 w/ 2 pups, but have never even had my hands on a newer t-bird. few of those here in fenderville-austin.
btw, i love the way my particular t-bird sounds.( might have something to do w/ the hiwatts i play it through)

thanks to all!! will keep you up on whatever progress i make. right now looking for the right body....

Some peeled and potted TB plus pups, note the production variations...........

The one on the bottom is an '89, the other from the mid-late 90's

For what you're doing it's difficult not to recommend some Lull pups, they are the exact same dimensions as you 60's Gibson, they even use the same mfg. for the chrome cover. Honestly they roar, far better than any of my 70's pups or the modern Gibson, here's one ready for installation on my BaCH

I don't know anything about T-birds pickups nor SD's replacements, but since we're on this subject, can anyone please send me measurements, or even better tracing of those 60's pickup's cover? Or direct me to some place I can find some? Thanks in advance.

I have had '76 covers stuffed with SD's 60's repro pups, works just fine and sounds fantastic.  Did someone mention HIWATT ?

You just click on the picture you want in Photobucket, when that page opens, you'll see four URLs in a block that says Share This Image. Copy the one that says IMG Code. Paste that directly into your post.

I like to think of it as an initiation of sorts.  ;)
