Crispy is more like it.  :)

With those pics of the house, I believe his story completely. One of my earliest memories is the night lightning came through the roof of our house into one of the bedrooms and left a smoking jagged hole in the ceiling. It had struck a weeping willow tree right next to the house and split the trunk lengthwise.

No, I didn't. It was a direct hit in the area from the neck pickup to the last three frets, charred but could be rebuilt.
