Clipped from a Papa Roach vid on YouTube. Looks like it has the pickups from the Decade...

I dig it! (except for the chrome egg)

Gotta be new - those are Chisonics.  I could live with the bridge if I could afford it

Skyline Decade with the upper horn partially obscured?

That would have to be the second one built, I've only seen the prototype before. Glad they changed the pickups to the Chisonics, heard the Barts on the original made it sound tame.

Nah - embedding is disabled, but the video is "Lifeline" by Papa Roach. The bass is visible at several points in the vid and it's clearly a NR bird style body. Besides, the Decade doesn't have a maple board.

I'm certain it's a nicely made bass......

But it's rather mis-shapen to my eye, an ugly graceless offspring (that does injustice to the original). Pray that it doesn't multiply.

I just watched the vid and agree it's a bit trucated though from what I can see not to the extent that the Spector Rex is.

The worst part of the bass, IMO, is the oval bridge - nomally I like the way the Lakland bridge looks on this bass it's offputting for some reason.

Regardless, I'd love to see better images of it.

I posted about this bass in the Outpost Cafe. The pic Dave shows is on the Lakland website. According to that site it's developed with and for John Entwistle.

I have strong doubts about that. JAE was very into graphite active basses and always looking for new technologies. I can't imagine he would go back to wooden Fenderbird-type basses... But after his dead of course you can say anything. The same with the Dragonfly. That's an Alembic variation on the Buzzard.

Somebody posted a high-res shot of that over on T.B. it's not the same one as in Dave's pic......
Regardless, to my eye it's unattractive. We may bitch about Gibson for a lot of justified reasons, but I'll always love them for making Thunderbirds................. ;D

The round bridge doesn't go with the angular TB body. It's like mixing plaid and stripes on a business suit.

Here's the first one:

Eeeewwww.
After seeing it up close, the bridge might be the best part of it.

Yeah, that bass just doesn't look right to me at all. Someone approached me about making a case for the prototype a couple of years ago, and Lakland sent me some pics. Hmmm... can't find them. Probably on my home computer....
