I like the trim rings myself.  Other than the old original P-models, I like trim rings on pickups.  Looks more finished.

I too like the trim rings. The recess on the neck Id recommend you used threaded inserts on the neck and machine screws to mount  through the plate . .The thinner pocket is  more stable using the machine screws and you hardware store options  are greater. Worth lookin into me thinks.

With the body already thicker than a standard Fender body I don't think I have to worry about that though.

Well today was the day for me to rout out the scallop in which the neck plate will sit. And while I was at it I also screwed the neck on to see if that needs adjusting as well.

Nice work, Blazer. That neck/body shape is quite unique!

Dang, that's assuming a real look of its own.  Unique, but with a strong nod to tradition.  First class!!!

Well today I applied the first layers of amber, it looks really classy.

Pictures will follow soon.

Cool!

Here's the body inside the workshop yesterday after I applied the first layers of amber shellac.

And here it is today after a wet sanding and a second layer. The pictures don't do it justice, in person the color is much deeper in shade.
