I've still got an old 50s EB headstock.  I bought a broken one for parts, and threw the headstock in a box.  So, I guess that is one way how you get a broken headstock.
Model One and Schallers?  Ish.

No kidding.  If nothing else, we ought to make note of that serial number and see if it turns up anywhere in the next year or so.

Reminds me of Woody Allen's "Sleeper" where the all that was left of the dictatorial Leader was his nose, and they were going to try to clone a whole person from it.

Yeah. Apparently this is like when they tear an entire house down except for one wall - which technically makes the new house simply a "repair". OR, when somebody takes an old car, one that is rotted away everywhere but the VIN tag and builds a new car around it.
We'll be taking entries for our "most creative use of a Thunderbird headstock" contest. Ping pong paddle, frosting spreader, crevice tool, whatever...

Hey, I think that's the head to my 60's NR!  Seriously,  I was tempted by it too, but I'm not ripping the head off of my NR after all the work it took to build it!   :)

Small British car manufacturers like Morgen and Marcos still use wooden chassis for their cars. Or they did until a few years ago.

There's a car commercial on Dutch tv where a cardboard box turns itself into a car. I'll try to find it. There's another commercial where bakers make a car out of cakes, chocolate, ...
