My wife is great. I mentioned a guitar on eBay that I wanted and she got it for me!

It should get here within a couple days of my birthday (Dec. 3rd).

It matches one I'm doing as a short scale bass.

Very cool that the missus buys you nice play toys - beats heck out of socks and neck ties any day of hte week.

I've always had a weakness for Vox stuff - even the aborations with six strings

I've been dying to do Phantom bass for years but comon sense gets the best of me - cant play a five sides bass sitting down and I'm not in a sixties cover band

so I haven't built it yet.

Me too! It's really funky IMHO. I really like their hollow body basses and hope to snag a Cougar and some of the others eventually. I too like the Phantom and it's got a lot of appeal as a very original design.

Wow, I've seen a few of those Vox violins on eBay from time to time needing some rehab. They were tempting. I especially like the Cougar HB bass and some of the other HB guitars they made. They aren't anything super special, but they are nice relatively inexpensive collectibles.
