Mark are you veggytarian too? :)  :)

Yeah, I'm going to the best health food store/cafe in Cali & maybe the world for Thanksgiving dinner tonight! They'll be closed tomorrow.
Their mock turkey is made from wheatmeat (wheat gluten) & lemmetellya it's so much like turkey it's scary....for us vegetarians. It's REALLY goood
This is the ONLY health food store/cafe I've found that sells no meat. fish or eggs whatsoever besides a chain in Hawaii run by friends of mine called Down To Earth. The owners started it back when they were hippies here in the SF Valley & there's another store in Santa Barbara, just a 2 store/restaurant "chain".
It's excellent. It's called Follow Your Heart. They're stayin' open til 10pm, an hour later than usual.

On Saturday the party I'm going to is in the home of one of my dearest friends, a beautiful Japanese Hawaiian lady who cooked my first vegetarian Thanksgiving dinner on Maui in 1975. I've been strictly vegetarian ever since.

I admire your resolve.  I have made an effort to cut back on meat and eat a more balanced diet - to a certain degree it's working.  I love veggies but I'm just a pitiful, weak, pathetic carnivore :D - I can hear a steak hitting a hot grill 5 blocks away! ;D  ( can't hear my wife telling me to take the trash out in the same room)

Happy Thanksgiving - with or without meat! ;)

Andrew

Terr, have you ever made yourself a Tofurkey? Good stuff! Pick one up if you've never tried it.

Also, have you ever eaten at any of the raw vegan restaurants in LA? I hear Juliano's place is crazy good.

There was nothing in the world
That I ever wanted more
Than to feel you deep in my heart
There was nothing in the world
That I ever wanted more
Than to never feel the breaking apart
All my pictures of you

Happy Thanksgiving to all, and extra sympathy to you vegetarians.  ;)

I saw this on Sunday, it's a nice Thanksgiving story for kids but worthwhile for adults too: Giving Thanks

Darrol

Happy Thanksgiving.

I have actually heard of a place here in the L.A. area that was started by 3 guys who wanted meat but were restricted to vegetarian diets. I can't remember the name but I remember hearing about it on the news because their recipes actually tasted like the real thing.
There are many in this world that call me Darrol, feel free to be apart of that group.

"Mark are you veggytarian too?

Not as strict as Terr, but close. I eat cholesterol free eggs, and I do still eat fish occasionally.
And every now and then I do cave in, last time was on my 50th B-day - I had Wild Boar, it was very good.
