Today, (for no explicable reason) I found myself looking over the list of this year's inductees. Knowing full well that the HOF is a plaything for Jann Wiener - umm, Wenner - I decided to pick, IMHO, the three biggest oversights thus far:
Chicago
Kiss
Free/Bad Company
I'd like to hear everyone else's top 3 disses.

Seriously, I don't care. We could argue all day over the meaning of Rock and Roll but I know what it's not. No offense at all to BB King, Gladys Knight, P-Funk, the Staples Singers, Mamas & Papas et al -- they all deserve recognition. Yet when 1/3 to 1/2 of the inductees are really blues, doo-wop, Motown, folk or soul artists, it's really a pop music hall of fame.

the hall of fame is pretty much a joke imo. i can't see any logical reason why some get in and some don't. if i could redesign the place i would toss every bit of it and replace it with a single photo of a slave in the fields. that's the wellspring from which all of this emerged.

Link Wray, Wynonie Harris, Lowell Fulson, Don Covey, Hound Dog Taylor, Willie Mae Thornton, Jethro Tull, T-Rex, John Mayall, Albert King, Freddie King, Jimmy Witherspoon, Gene Krupa, Jimmy Cliff, The Funk Brothers, Champion Jack Dupree, Screamin Jay Hawkins, Dale Hawkins, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, The Shadows, Gary U.S. Bonds, Jan & Dean, The Kingsmen, Little Feat, Leon Russell, Mitch Ryder, Sir Douglas Quintet, Stevie Ray Vaughn... All of them would seem to be eligible, but are not included. doesn't seem right.

I still have that first Yesterday and Today lp.  That was more California in the 70s than any VH lp.

I think the Turtles deserve to be in it.  Especially with people like Miles Davis and Leonard Cohen in it.

Model One and Schallers?  Ish.

Yes
King Crimson
ELP
Mike Watt

Can't argue with those.  Given that T-Rex is still popular with the younger crowd, I think they're deserving of it.
