The Dutch highway patrol used to have Porsches, which were replaced like 15 years ago by Volvo's. But the fast T-models.

I have this book about American police cars. Of course it are mostly Ford Crown Vics or Caprice Classics. But some corpses inpounded cars of drug dealers and used them, so there are pics of some sports cars and BMWs in police colours:)

Riding in that car would make getting arrested fun  ;)

Australian Holden Monaro GTO police car would be about the best they can do here.
I think these cars were exported to the states and rebadged as Pontiac GTO's

That Holden is also imported in England. Vauxhall (Opel in the rest of Europe and Ireland, cos they hate everything British) has all thise quite small cars and one V8 muscle car! Love that:)

To be honest Chris the Monaro is pretty old school in its design concept.  A V8 that can be beaten pretty easily by a Subaru WRX in a straight line, not to mention corners doesn't make a great cop car IMHO. It does sound nice though ;)

That's what I like! Vauxhalls are quite modern European cars and then they have this simple monster:)

They are built here in Adelaide at the Elizabeth GMH plant

The Holden Goat has been phased out here.  A few dealerships have unsold models but they ask the moon for them.  It was a nice car that didn't sully the Pontiac GTO legacy as much as the Nova they did at the bitter end, and the horrendous Grand Am they planned in the 80s.  The suggestion has been that Pontiac had to introduce something to keep control of the model name here.

There are a few police forces here that used hopped up Mustangs as plain-paints.  Those are fun.  But I would guess most use Crown Vics for either patrol cars or plain paints.  The problem is that Ford stopped selling the Crown Vic through dealerships a few years back, so if you see one behind you, you know it is a cop.  The nature of US law enforcement is that the Lamborghini wouldn't be of much use for hauling crackerjacks and alchies in the back at 4 in the morning.  Ford has those nice vinyl seats and pebble mats for all that pee, poop and puke that ends up there.  Chase and crash videos on cable aside, that is sadly what cop work is most of the time.
Model One and Schallers?  Ish.

Around here most departments are using Crown Vics. The sheriff's department in an adjoining county is now buying Chargers. One of my neighbors is a deputy there and was assigned one earlier this year. Compared to a Crown Vic, it looks more powerful.
