Scott,

Think of it this way, yesterday you were someones' employee. Today you're the president of the Dasson Corporation.

Best Wishes,

(the other) Scott

Hey Scott,

Sorry to come here and read this today. My current project ends in about a month and I'll probably be out of work for a while after it. It's a scary time... I'm glad to see your positive attitude survived the morning. It'll serve you well as you move forward, my friend. May your 19th century skills provide you with a 21st century living!

Darrol

Sorry to hear about that Scott

I kind of know how some of you feel. My only job so far has been freelance work doing animatics for a small company in Venice, CA. Back in March, they got the contract they were trying to get with Walmart from the work that I had been doing and we were told that animatics were going to be coming in a lot faster. Well lets just say that last animatic I had from them was back in the first week of May and it was canceled the next day. Since then I have had animatics, it has just been a lot slower with my last group of work ending in July.
There are many in this world that call me Darrol, feel free to be apart of that group.

I was down a little on Sat. but I'm stoked today ! First Scott's Antiques and Furniture Restoration is now open, I already have work coming in this week and items up on ebay and craig's list. The Thunderbird Garage is now open, bridges bodies and pickguards. I have alot of options I could not be more excited.

This is always in the back of my mind...good luck--if you can make it without being someone else's employee, you'll be better off.

That's good news!  A guy who can do nice work is seldom out of opportunities.

Just wait 'til your customers discover that you can take a splinter from a 60s NR T-bird and turn it into a complete bass.  ;)  You'll have more business than you can handle.

Thanks Dave, I gotta Give Michael Dolan credit for the neck !

Just got back from Clemson. I'm glad you're moving forward with your plans Scott. Necessity, and fate, have a way of moving us off the mark! I'm sure you'll do fine. Let me know if I can help in any way.

Thanks Bill!

You're welcome Scott.  Seven years ago, I had a student who was great at computers and was dabbling part-time in web design, which she was incredibly good at.  I, and another professor, encouraged her to quit her full time job and pursue her dreams for her own business.  She finally did and now she has the number one web design company for health care organizations in the country.  Do what you love and the rest will often work out!  Besides, once you do become your own boss, you can't complain about  about "them" any more.  You are "them" now!!!   ;)  Hell, if I could start my own college, I would have been gone a long time ago!
