Here's my "newest"  TB.  All finished except for the rear control cover, gotta make one sometime.  It sounds fantastic.  I really can't quite tell, but it seems a little deeper in tone than my white TB with the plastic pup covers.  That one is pretty growly and full of mid-ranges.  This one growls but has a nice bottom end.  Both have TI jazz rounds on them.

I'm fixin' a hole where the rain gets in..........cuz I'm built for a kilt!

Very sharp!! How do you like those Jazz Rounds on a TB?

That's it, I'm ordering a chrome Supertone.

Hey Ray, I use TI Jazz rounds on all of my TBs.  I love them.  They bend like crazy, are tightly wrapped and easy on the fingers.  They are my favorite rounds, period.  Plenty of piano-like ring but not so harsh.

The Supertone is a bit big, but it is very flexible and the action on this bass is super.  I wasn't going for a vintage look anyway.  This works well on this one IMHO.

As soon as these Elixirs start to fade on the ObG I'm going to try the Jazz Rounds on it, based on your recommendation! Hopefully Wymore Guitars will have a chrome Supertone for me this weekend.

What is the toggle for?

VERY NICE!!!  I assume you had to route the body to get those pickups to fit.  Correct?

yep, I'm a TI guy. I use their flats too on my other basses.

I skipped the usual tone control (I never use one anyway)  and just went with a 3- way to allow me to select one pup or both. Works great!

Nope, no routing required. the 60's covers dropped right in! Very easy really.

It looks like the Hipshot tuners were a tight fit on yours too, at first I didn't think they'd work. It sure turned out Sweet, too bad Gibson doesn't let you at least choose hardware color - Chrome = Goodness  ;)

Ah yes, chromey, chromey goodness!  Yeah, I had to angle the Hipshot tuners just slightly to keep them from hitting.  It was worth it, they are super accurate and the drop in weight is a real plus.

Well, I think the chrome has a definite electronic influence by increasing the spread of the magnetic field across the entire pup surface.   ;)

Or it could be the higher capacitance with the metal cover causing a slight reduction of high end, making you think you have more low end.  :P ;)
