I've just installed this on my 75/77 and it's awesome. It's that mini switch between the tone knob and the jack (some prefer push/pull tone).

I've always used the neck pickup only on J's, hated that J+J tone. Now with the switch on series it's a great useable sound. Both full on, fat tone, significant boost, and as a bonus, in series the neck volume turns into a master volume.

Nice setup. I wouldn't mind trying that if I still had a Jazz Bass.

If I understand it correctly, series mode wires the two single coils as one humbucker, which explains the volume boost and fatter tone.

Series wired singlecoils are serieusly underrated!

That would be interesting, I don't know anyone done that. Ric pickup pairs are rw/rp, right?

If you just use jumper cables to test it won't be a tough mod.

No, it is not, but if the pickups are not rw/rp then in series mode instead of no noise you will have double noise.

Gotcha!

It could be rewired so that both volumes set the pickups in series. I think the Bicentennial T-birds were wired like this?

Correct.
