I didn't know that he also used it in BBM.

It's nice to see Jack is still getting the juices going for Gibson basses in the public eye. One of those articles postulated this could lead up to an EB-1 reissue. While that would be interesting, I have a hard time imagining it coming to fruition. If it did happen, the new pickup would probably be nothing like the old sidewinder. They would probably just throw one of those SG bass tb+ neck pickups in there and that would be disappointing.
Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

You're so right, without a real mudbucker, might as well forget it. They did have that Epi EB-1 ("reissue") in the 90s. But it had a faux sidewinder and that oddball matte finish.

They would make it a PJ bass with some crap two-band preamp.

Jack replaced the banjo tuners, but he still had the original massive single coil pickup.

Yep, it has that wonderful sound!

Neither did I. I've never seen that. They might have confused it with this lineup:

He used his fretless Warwick with BBM in the videos I've seen.
