Saw elsewhere that the owner is retiring and closing up shop, after all these years. Nothing official yet that I can see, but there's a header "30% Off All Strings, Picks, & Accessories!  While Supplies Last!"

If you buy any specialty items from them, better do it now.

I've seen the sale notices - a little voice inside me wondered if maybe they were shutting down - this makes a lot of sense. I should go in and save my purchase history, I've been getting strings from there for years - over a decade for sure, maybe close to 2?

I had a feeling. I kept getting sale emails, but none of the strings I use were in stock. Def looked like a "getting rid of remaining inventory" situation. Too bad, I liked working with them.

Anybody have recommendations on a new supplier??

That's sad. I've bought from them many times, especially nonconventional stuff, like flats for a Fender VI.

The warehouse was 15 minutes away from where I live. An old converted church just off the oval in Milford NH. I could always get strings in person and the owners often had their dog at work as the welcoming committee. Sad to see them go. It's inspiring to see what a reach they had to musicians everywhere. To me they were like a mom and pop shop where I could grab strings and then have a good breakfast, lunch or haircut in town right after. I wish the owners all the best.
Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

They were easy to get single strings from too.

This thread at Mandolin Cafe is as close to a closing announcement as we're going to get.

QuoteThey were one of two of the Cafe's longest running business partners and that relationship was discontinued effective January 1.

Sorry to be the bearer of sad news, but the owners of JustStrings are retiring soon, so we'll be closing up shop in a few months and won't be restocking most items.

I've bought a metric ton of strings from them while I resided in the States and am sad to see them shut down.

Strings and Beyond as well as Strings By Mail are other places I've had good experiences with. Obviously, YMMV.

I've had a good experience with both of those but only had occasion to buy one string set from each.
