Sure, it already existed earlier, here at 04:39 for example,



but with the advent of the 70ies it became (over?)abundant and a stylistic component for the majority of rock bands. What would have Hotel California been without that harmony solo at the end?

  I'm glad he seems to be doing well, he certainly kept it under his hat. Our idols are getting old and we're not far behind them. Sobering. Jim Lea and Don Powell have been quite active lately. Jim seems to have recently discovered social media and puts out content on a regular basis.  It's nice to see what he's up to. Of course a Slade reunion will never happen to much bad blood with H and health issues.
