Whoops, I disappeared for a while
« on: November 18, 2023, 05:50:02 AM »
Hi folks

I don't know why or how it happened, but I haven't been here in over 4 years.  It wasn't a conscious decision!

How are you all?  What have I missed?

Welcome back.

We're still here. ;-)

I still haven't returned to playing in a band.
Filled in for a couple of gigs last year with a Whitesnake tribute band, but did not enjoy it as much as I secretly hoped I would.

Instead of playing bass guitars I focus on building them ;-)

Built this one for Uwe this summer:

And also made this:

I said goodbye to my life as a partner in my graphic design studio four years ago.
I switched to a day job a HAN University of Applied Sciences. Finally building up a proper pension. And since it is a job in education, I enjoy lots of holidays ;-)

But I had no idea, Professor Rob! What do you teach?

Neepheid, admit it, you were probably busy seceding all these years - you're always in the midst of it! Willkommen zurück.
We've taken too much for granted ... and all the time it had grown ...
From techno seeds we first planted ... evolved a mind of its own ...

I don't really teach. I work at the Communications department as a member of the house style team.
One of the main activities is managing a Digital Asset Management site. I design and maintain templates for users of this site, in order to make it possible for them make make posters, facstheets, flyers etc without any graphic design skills.
Plus I judge/check the publications that are made with this tool.
Sometimes I have to teach new users (colleagues) how to use the site.

Welcome back.

We're still about planes, trains, automobiles, Gwyneth Paltrow's vagina, and butt stuff.

+ of course: Ritchie Blackmore

Uwe's edit: Alas!, Dave has become a little forgetful ...

Oh yeah, basses.

In short, b(asses).
Music was better when ugly people were allowed to make it.
