Wow that's expensive.  I wonder what happened to the previously-mentioned V and left-handed Thunderbird, by Gene himself.

I’m not a rock guy , so it’s no surprise that I don’t “get” Gene , but I do like this bass , but not the price.

The LP DC Jr is still on the website , but has been out of production for some time now. Perhaps it will resume production. My Jr is easily one of my favourite things to pick up and play.

Wow, they finally did it. Super cool bass for the super Gene fan. Appears to be "Custom Shop" rather than part of the G2 line. Way too much $$$ for me to consider, and I don't use short scales much.

Nice bass, but a bit pricey indeed.

Gorgeous - and long overdue, but way too 'spensive for the hoi polloi - like me. :-\

I guess it's a Gene thing, but the strings aren't string through, while they can.

Hey Rob - Hypothetically speaking, what would a Brooks version of this sell for, and what would you use for the pickup? That's the part of the Gibson that worries me the most, since their recent mudbucker attempts have fallen short of both the original and any upgraded boutique reissues.

The Kluson high mass bridge is a first for Gibson

That would be € 2500.
The one that I drew about a year ago was 34". But I guess short scale is possible too. ;-)
I would use an Artec Mudbucker

Why did they use rusty screws, while the rest is obviously not a relic?

Just think a little, man ...

PS: I continue to hold that the Kiss touring organisation has real deficiencies in state-of-the-art healthcare provision, poor Gene has been suffering from overt, yet apparently untreated tuberculosis for half a century. Shouldn't he at least be eligible for MEDICARE by now?
