The guy who bought the same bass twice — first in 1977 and again in 2023

Suspiciously clean and suspiciously cheap. Could be a Custom Shop reissue?

That is my favourite combination of colours on a P Bass.

My P Bass has the same colour arrangement, only it is un-slabbed.

Now down to $4K.

Fake fake fake. Not a real '66 slab P. Could be a real Fender neck though.

Only 2 photos, no CS markings shown and therefore no reason to believe it is. The only description says "comes with leather gigbag, this is a very special official one-off," Yeah, right.

There’s many more early or rare model Pbasses around than were ever produced.
I’ve been told the main difference between the really good fakes and the real thing is that the fakes tend to play better.

Yup! There was a run of about twenty white Slabs for the UK and another twenty or so in various finishes for the US market.

Most that came to the UK were modified, stripped and refinished, etc. Even the example Geddy Lee bought has extra screw holes around the bridge.

One guy on Basschat built a balls-out replica using a Fender Roger Waters sig neck, refinished with the correct decal, etc. I wonder where it is now!

Yes, plenty of excellent fakes out there. QC was hit and miss in the 60s, so I don't doubt that the copies play as well or better.
