I've played around with a bow, but it never occurred to me to do it right over the fingerboard so the body's not in the way. Sounds great.

I've posted this so many times before here, no one ever gave a rat's ass about it. That's him with a bow on an electric bass soloing for several minutes. In 1972. He also co-wrote the song back when he was still allowed to do such things.

Any upstanding rock fan should know where the connections between Wishbone Ash and AC/DC lie. And what Tina Turner, Roger Chapman and the Queen Musical have to do with it. As well as Whitesnake.

Regarding the video in the first post. I can't be the only person with a suspicion that Charles did some overdubbing right? The sound seems way too acoustic to be coming from an electric bass.

Naw, he is too vain to fake something like that. But he has an array of modelling sounds. Still a talented young man with awesome dexterity.

Considering that Jim Diamond had a (success-less) hard rock background with Bandit to then - after a stint with Alexis Korner -  find one-hit-wonder fame with a guitar-less synth-pop-duo (ph.d) before he finally settled into a moderately successful solo career until his untimely early death, Tesla were kind of closing the circle (and had an eclectic music taste, ph.d were an unknown quantity in the US)! Danke, I'll store that for posterity.
