I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes. Are you going to go the Fenderbird route with the neck? The pocket outline gives that impression but I figured I'd ask. I'm pretty sure it'll sound great no matter which way you decide to build it!

Personally I think that maple is quite pretty, not plain at all. I know it's simpler than what people tend to like for natural finish tops, but maybe that's what I like about it.
