Someone over at the Facebook Thunderbird Bass Players Group suggested that he saw the Vintage Pro Thunderbird announced as coming soon at the Gibson site.

It's also completely missing from the Epiphone site, too.

Whoa, I wonder if that could mean a left-handed version.  Very dangerous for me.

They'll REALLY have to step up their game if Gibson wants to charge US-made prices after making such a stellar bass in Indonesia. My Epi smokes the recent US TBirds.

And now, Epi unveils USA Casino

Seems that the Casino and the Texan were barely ready on time, so no pricing yet. Hopefully it also means that a couple of bass models will be made, as JC and Cesar told Chris at NAMM last year.

I just checked Sam Ash, they say it's a closeout, limited quantities.

If you're in the market for one, better not hesitate.

That's from an external search indexing the whole site. Go to the "basses" page. It ain't there.

It's right there in the "Inspired By Gibson" "Original Bass" tab.

It wasn't when I looked yesterday. Maybe they're updating it for NAMM announcements.

Oracle knew how to get free booze. Great movie. Who can forget Martin Landau as the blue-eyed Chief Walks-Stooped-Over?

It wasn't a big hit. Maybe because it was too long. IIRC nearly three hours.

I guess the new Embassy was not a big seller.  They're at $399 brand new with a 20% off code on top.  AMS has black ones for $339.

i'm not surprised. It wasn't well known back in the day and Epi did very little to promote the reissue.

One of my favorite wacky westerns.  Loved Donald Pleasance as Oracle and Burt Lancaster as the Colonel. And there was teamster Brian Keith, yelling "I'm a taxpayer and a good Republican...!"

Another favorite quote from Jim Hutton as Capt. Slater: "Protect both rears...simultaneously!"

Every time I hear someone say something like "I see it now..." it triggers a memory of the movie. Not a cinematic milestone, just a really fun western that never took itself seriously.  I have it on laserdisc.

I haven't seen it in about 20 years but I see the full movie is on YT. I'll have to watch again.

Brief appearance of Donald Pleasence in the trailer starting at 1:06, followed by Brian Keith
