Rod and Robert Palmer singing together on the song that both had recorded very different versions of.  I preferred Rod Stewart's version, but liked Palmer's voice more.

Well, I am not happy to be joining the club as it were with many of you lot as regards ex wives.  I suppose I wouldn't mind the low down on all the other fun things I have to look forward to.

Sorry to read this Jake - It took awhile, but for me it was very sweet liberation, I wish you the best.

Palmer has less cringeworthy moments in his recorded history than Rod, but he was an awkward live performer at the best of times, while Rod's rogue charm was made for the stage. There's definitely more substance to Palmer, but disliking Stewart is kinda hard, he wears it well.

Just as good or better than the Gap Band version, IMO.

Getting a bit far from Rod and his trains, aren't we?

The real Early in The Morning.  :P

I always thought this Rod Stewart video was well made.

I have always thought that two Robert Palmer videos captured the TRUE ESSENCE of music videos, especially this one (the other is Simply Irresistible).

- Pretty women:
...in sharply contrasting colors
...undulating to the music
...and a few shots of the artist singing

What else do you need?  For guys, this video and Simply Irresistible are kind of "the ultimate music videos." No waste video, just a sensual seduction onscreen...without ever breaking decorum.

I really love this video...

Indisputably ranks together with the likewise abysmal "Love Touch" as "worst Rod Stewart songs EVER".

I never paid much attention to the song itself, but mostly to Kay Lentz.  The video is like a mini-movie.  Her image in the video is far different than her portrayal of the naive girl in "Breezy."  But the main focus of that movie is William Holden's great acting.  When someone can make a character come to life like that, it gets my attention.  A very offbeat movie.  Clint Eastwood's third movie to direct. I'm planning on seeing his "Richard Jewell" movie if I can.

How about this one? You have to be old enough to remember and appreciate Bob & Ray.

From a one-off special by the SNL folks.

Yeah.  Thanks (Also to Rob and Frauline too).  Trying not to but she's playing games - open hand extended but the one behind her back has the claws out.  I'm just glad she thinks I'm dumb cuz she's making a ton of mistakes. I'm keeping it civil but planning for when she pounces.  She does not seem to mind weaponising the kids which is tragic - I am doing what I can to minimise that.   Almost there, so great.  I'm better now but it was a bit dark there at the start of the year.

Anyway - love that RevCo track!
