Whatever the reason, they're new and below MAP, which is still $999 on Gibson's website. I'm sure Gibson gave them permission.

Just scored a blem from GC for $479,  I couldn't pass it up.  Hopefully it won't be too jacked up when it gets here.  $599 new on the President's Day sale.

GC also has a used one listed for $780.  That'll be a tough sell.

For all of you Chrome lovers, CME has their own version with chrome hardware and a tortoise shell pickguard.

Who's arm did they twist? If i'm not mistaken there have not been a chrome covered T-bird shaped pickup on any Gibson bass since 1986 (the Custom Shop TB II). In 1991 there were the special edition three pickup 'birds but they were gold plated right?

I'm truly concerned about this obscene aberration.  :-\

Wow, that looks good! I'm not a big fan of tort guards, but it works well here, strange as it may be for a Gibson.

There's this odd one off with chrome pickups too.

It's funny that a company not generally known for tort seems to always manage to make nicer versions of it than anything coming from Fender. The first versions of the EB with the DeCola pickups had nice tort as well.
Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

I have a 2013 EB 5 string, and yes, the tort guard is very nice.

I played one a couple days ago. I normally don't like shorties. I LIKED it, mainly for the pickup, but the neck was VERY nice..

ZZ Sounds has them at $799...has Gibson officially pulled the plug on this model ? What's the deal with all these blowouts ?
