I wonder if Ray Price would have dug what Lainey Wilson is doing? I had to pass through Fly Away by Lenny Kravitz and Delilah by Tom Jones on the car radio until landing on this song which my kid finally let me keep dialed in.

I dare not ask whether this is real country for dread of the usual scathing remarks. I fear not, however, the verse is funky in places, the middle eight even rocky. But I really like it. Never heard of her, but will get a CD now . Thanks for the tip!

The way she sings "unless I want to" as "unless I wowned to" is worth the price of admission alone. 🤠

Wröng, it's ze özzer vvvay aröund! German humor doesn't work in other özzer längwiches, translate as you might ... Like these brilliant pieces about marital non-communication by Loriot.

A key component in German traditional humor is the vain attempt to stick to protocol and decorum in the most hilarious and awkward situations - in that way German humor isn't all that different to Mr Bean/Rowan Atkinson or Monty Python (both tremendously popular in Germany), the valiant effort of the little man trying to save his dignity against overwhelming odds.

This here is extremely similar to Mr Bean humor - the obsessive compulsion to restore order and creating havoc along the way - but it precedes the Mr Bean figure by more than a decade.

And then there is always this slightly Elon Musk'esque moment ...
