Brad isn't claiming that the Remington ammo boxes have anything to do with famous people or places. Big difference between that and what Fender's doing.

Also, as commenters pointed out, the seats in Hollywood Bowl were replaced in 1958 and again in 1981. Pardon me for doubting that these boards came from the original seats. I wouldn't believe it without provenance.

Hey, I still have enough walnut I bought in 1981 to build a guitar. It came from a tree chopped down by Dan'l Boone himself! (or maybe by Ed Ames with a tomahawk). It's true because I said so!

I think it's a pretty guitar.
No matter where that plank came from.

I'm not sure whether sitting, walking or standing on wood is relevant. Where the wood was used is what matters. If they did something similar (but priced sanely) with the seats at Red Rocks in Denver, you can bet it would be a big draw.

I wouldn't buy either, but I find this kind of thing more interesting than the Hollywood Bowl guitars.

Well come on man, its a Telecaster made out of a bit of wood that somebody's arse might have been planted on when the Beatles were playing. Infused with a magic mixture of farts, spilled weed and beer.... Only it isn't anything of the sort. It looks like it is made out of scrap wood recovered from a demolished barn, costs as much as a car, and will never be played by a musician of any sort.

And Boss decide to reissue ancient two-knob pedals, for $899.99! What?!?!?!

Dave W

But it's ass-blasted wood! You can't find that just anywhere!

Alaskan yellow cedar isn't even cedar. It's cypress.

Will Fender Japan make Aichi D3A "Val" dive bomber-inspired companion pieces with pearl (harbour) inlays and a (Tokyo-)rosewood fretboard? The Tora!-Tora!-Tora!-caster?

So much for Détente...

Gibson (Japan) could make a KamakaziBird... guaranteed to (neck) dive and bomb, or is that a StukaBird...? :vader:

After that they may consider making Teles out of wood from the Tunguska forests.

But plans for a Stukabird were shelved years ago, they couldn't come to grips with the feedback!!!
