Why do you say that?

My guess came from how they usually painted the top finish over the maple top edge like these:




But that was just a matter of me not seeing enough of Tobacco Burst finished ones. Now I know better.
I found another one:

Makes sense. You typically do see them with the color on all parts of the body. I do like this look a lot and I really like the bass so far.
