if only the JCS had a white pickup.... Well I have a cream one somewhere. Am I right this is the first JCS with pickguard?

This one's very pretty:

All JCS basses have a pickguard Chris.

Oh, and I like the fact that the Rumblekat does not have the fugly gold hardware.  ;)

I used to have a JCS so I should have known haha!!!! Why did I thought this? Maybe of sthe strange-ish combination of a white guard and a black pickup??  Black out moment:)

Alanko

People do remove the pickguards fairly often!

I quite like the blue JCS, but not with the black fittings.

Granny Gremlin

Gibsonj/ Epi logic:  cream pickup on a black bass and the exact same pickup in black on a blue bass with otherwise white hardware.

I like it. Not crazy about the black pickup either though. It kinda sorta ties in with the headstock and knobs if you really use your imagination.

Are these really 34'' scale? Hard to trust Gibson website specs...

Made in China I assume?

Dave W

The Casady has always been 34". Both were made in Korea for years, don't know if they still are.

Alanko

Did Peerless make them for a while? I know they released their own JCS; identical with the exception of the headstock.

Chris P.

I think Epiphones aren't made in Korea for years anymore. I guess China or Indonesia?

My Epi JCS is from the Peerless factory. March 2003. Unit 0287

Still made in Korea as of 2015 (FWIW - does it even matter any more?) - and yes, the Blue Royale is lush and not anything like the stock photography.

Look how sparkly it is!  Last one taken with no flash - in reality it hovers between the two extremes.

I like blue sparkly a LOT.  Something about that color in general...

What means this word ending in "urple?" No referent. Sounds impolite. 😉

That blue looks much better than the promo shots I've seen from Epiphone. The promo shots make it look like a cheap solid finish.
