Hey Denis, did this arrive yet? I'd love to hear a report when it does. I've always been intriguied by these.

Denis

It did arrive. My buddy who found it picked it up for me and played around with it for a while. It needed a refret as some of them were loose. A mutual friend who used to work at Roscoe Bass Guitars did the work for me and it turned out beautifully.
I'll post some pics.

So jealous!  That is a amazing deal!  I have always wanted one of those.

Well, here she is! Plays and sounds great! Had to get it refretted and had the fingerboard refinished. All told I have about $350 in it!

With that placement for the pickup, it will be one funky tight sounding bass

Thanks, I'm really pleased with it!
Forgot to include a pic of the headstock.

Congrats, Denis!  Looks to be in topnotch shape

Mine was really beat when I got it and required a lot of work to get the action low to my liking and after that the pickup low enough.  Also cost a bit more, but it's a keeper.  I have an Ebay search for them but that model rarely comes up.

How's the action on yours?  Mine's serial #28xx, is yours anywhere near that?

Very cool bass.  Any idea how much it weighs?

Thanks, Carlo! Action is fairly low and comfortable. Some of my frets were loose and had to be dealt with but the refret I had done was a topnotch job.

Pretty close, mine is 2800.  Yours was definitely treated better!  The 12th fret on mine was like a hurdle compared to the rest but leveling them was pretty easy.

What a bargain! At that price I wondered what you might be letting yourself in for. Great that it worked out for you so well.
