Stumbled across this by accident - Eagles and Styx you say?  :o

Good thing: Tommy Shaw doesn't look like a girl anymore. More like a blond-caucasian version of Prince. Or a bearded Kim Carnes, I'm uncertain now ...  :)

It's a song that has been overdone, but they play it well. Felder has all the right to do it, the chord progression and the twin lead arrangement were his ideas.

I was never a Styx hater, their vocals and the often keyboard-driven compositions made them immediately recognizable. I don't even mind "Babe".  :gay:

He looks like Steven Tyler's sister

I liked Damn Yankees back in the day.
But not so much anymore.
BTW The only music that Ted Nugent made, that I ever liked. Even if it were for a short period ;-)

I think the Damn Yankees had good combined songwriting craft and Uncle Ted was contained/restrained to only do what he does best when he's not shooting arrows at inanimate targets: play fluid solos. To quote the great Frank Z: Shaddap and play yer guitar!

But of course I prefer an unadulterated Jack Blades motorin' in Night Ranger.

He looks more like he could be Ann Coulter's twin brother, and that's frightening.

Ouch, Dave! Just because he has played with Ted Nugent AND Jack Blades doesn't mean he hasn't kept a semblance of political sanity!

Besides, you dislike women with a long face irrespective of their political views!

I was referring to her looks, not her politics.

Women with long faces? Just google image search Sarah Jessica Parker Horse.

Does Felder just naturally sound now like his voice is being slammed within an inch of its life through auto-tune or is that an effect that people actually enjoy? Shaw sounds like himself so I know it's not just the video.

Felder never had a great voice, but I think it's better now than it used to be. Still not a natural talent, it sounds tutored and doctored here, true.

I believe more people use autotune nowadays than we all think - and not just the usual suspect pop-dance acts. It's just hushed up. A while ago, I read an interview with Halford where they asked him whether he used autotune on stage and he frankly admitted it: "Not a lot, a quarter note, everyone does it these days, it ensures consistency on a long tour, you are not as good as you wish to be every night". And Halford never had issues pitching. OTOH, when I hear the recent Van Halen live CD, some more autotune might have helped (both Dave and the listeners)!  Or quite possibly not.

The entire "Voice of Holland" shows are drowned in Autotune/Melodyne. Another reason to not want to watch those.
